With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching on 25 September, it’s time to prepare for one of our favourite traditions.

For generations, the full moon has symbolised reunion, completeness and togetherness — a time for families to gather, share food and celebrate under the same moon.

At Mister Chu, we continue this tradition with our distinctive Hakka-style mooncakes, handmade from a recipe and craft passed down through generations in Mauritius. ❤️

Whether shared with family, offered to loved ones, or simply enjoyed with a cup of Chinese tea, every mooncake carries a little piece of our heritage.

🌕 Fête La Lune is coming — 25 September

On 25 September, we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, known in Mauritius as Fête La Lune.

In Chinese tradition, the full moon symbolises reunion, completeness and togetherness. It is a time for families to gather, share food and celebrate the bonds that connect generations.

At Mister Chu, Fête La Lune has a special place in our story. Our traditional Hakka-style mooncake is different from the mooncakes commonly seen today, with its own distinctive preparation, flavour and texture — a reflection of our Hakka roots and a tradition passed down through generations in Mauritius.

As we look towards the full moon this September, we celebrate not only a festival, but the memories, family and heritage that continue to bring us together. 🌕🥮
