We’ve been receiving this sort of message for the past two days.
It all started with a Facebook post on our page.
A post that Lovin Malta shared of its own accord.
It seems clear to me that we’re facing a strange situation.

So strange that the power cut now takes a back seat.

This isn’t the Malta I know, it isn’t the Malta I love, it isn’t the Malta I live in.
In contrast to these comments, we’ve received ten times as many that have comforted us and given us strength. That is the Malta I love, the Malta I know.

I’ve blurred out names and photos out of respect for those who wrote nasty things to me.

We’re strong; we’ve got through Covid, so a bit of a power cut certainly isn’t going to stop us.
Thank you to those who care about us, thank you to those who support us, thank you to those who wrote all those nasty things to us.
If they hadn’t written them, I wouldn’t have known that all the people who wrote to us, supporting us and showing us affection and solidarity, even existed.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sono 2 giorni che abbiamo questo tipo di messaggi .
Tutto partito da un post di FB scritto sulla nostra pagina.
Post che Lovin Malta ha condiviso in modo autonomo.
Mi sembra evidente che siamo di fronte ad una situazione strana.

Talmente strana che l’interruzione di energia elettrica a questo punto passa in secondo piano .

Questa non è la Malta che io conosco, non è la Malta che io amo, non è la Malta che vivo.
A fronte di questi commenti, ne abbiamo 10 volte tante che ci hanno confortato, che ci danno forza. Questa parte è la Malta che amo, la Malta che conosco .

Ho oscurato nomi e foto, per rispetto di chi mi ha scritto cose brutte .

Siamo forti , abbiamo passato il Covid , figuriamoci se un po’ di corrente ci fermerà.
Grazie a chi ci vuole bene, grazie a chi ci sostiene , grazie a chi ci ha scritto tutte queste cose brutte .
Se non le avessero scritte, non avrei saputo che esistevano tutte le persone che ci hanno scritto sostenendoci, e dimostrandoci affetto e vicinanza.

We're the ones apologizing, even though the apology should come from somewhere else.

Our lights are off today. Our commitment isn't.

We're not asking for favours. We're asking for electricity.

Sounds revolutionary — apparently it is.

Le nostre luci oggi sono spente.

Non chiediamo favori.
