The Chalet was inaugurated on 12 May 1926 and soon became one of Malta’s most iconic seaside venues. Built on a strip of land jutting out from the promenade at Għar id-Dud in Sliema, it was designed in the Art Nouveau style and became famous as a dance hall and entertainment hotspot, hosting some of Malta’s finest musical acts. Even today, it remains a powerful symbol of elegance, leisure, and a lost chapter of Maltese social history.
