To everyone who has supported me over the years,

As many of you already know, after much thought and careful consideration, I have made one of the most difficult decisions of my career. It is time for me to begin a new chapter.

Over the years, San Remo has become so much more than just a snack bar—it has truly become my second home. The renovations, the reputation we've built for quality food and friendly service, and the awards and certifications we've proudly received have all been possible because of the passion, hard work, and dedication of my team and me.

This decision has not been an easy one. Like many businesses, we have faced rising costs and ongoing staffing challenges. Rather than compromise on the quality and service you deserve, I have decided to take this next step in my journey.

San Remo will continue serving you until 31st August, and I truly hope to see as many of you as possible before we close this special chapter together.

Our journey doesn't end here. I look forward to welcoming you to Jimren, my new takeaway just opposite San Remo. While it won't offer the same dine-in experience, you can expect the same quality food, the same friendly service, and some exciting new dishes that I can't wait for you to try.
As a little preview, Jimren will be open during this year's Santa Marija Feast with a limited menu, giving you a taste of what's to come before our official opening.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every customer who walked through our doors, to my incredible team, my family, and our wonderful neighbours. Your support, loyalty, and friendship have meant more to me than words can ever express.

This page will soon become the official Jimren page, so stay tuned for updates as we begin this exciting new journey together.

I can't wait to welcome as many of you as possible to San Remo until 31st August, and then to see you all again at Jimren.

Jimren is conveniently located just a five-minute walk from the Mosta Rotunda, precisely in the right corner behind City Bar. The name Jimren is a combination of the names Jimmy and Ren, who were the long-standing owners of the property. They eventually decided to sell it to their close friend, Chris, who is currently the chef at San Remo. Chef Chris then chose to transform the establishment from its previous incarnation as a pastizzeria into a gourmet take-away, and he honored Jimmy and Ren by naming it after them.

Chef Chris has been working in the catering industry for the past 15 years and has achieved many awards during his career. He is currently developing a new initiative that incorporates an innovative take-away concept, emphasizing the use of the freshest, locally sourced ingredients..

At Jimren, we are pleased to offer a selection of classic take-away snacks, alongside traditional Maltese dishes, for which Chris is already renowned.
