Hi everyone — sorry for taking a little of your time, but here’s why I’m reaching out.
For several years I had a personal trainer, Andrea, a great guy whom I loved working with. In October 2022, while participating in an obstacle-course race, he suffered a devastating accident that left him unable to use his legs and with very limited use of his arms.
His story affects me deeply, as you can imagine — not only because he is a wonderful person, but also because it reminds me how quickly life can change. In August 2020 I had a serious accident myself when I fell into a well. By pure luck I survived with only minor broken bones. I could have ended up permanently disabled. That experience made me realize how fortunate I was. Andrea did not have the same luck. Since his accident he has faced, with courage, enormous physical, emotional, and financial challenges.
I am committed to supporting Andrea because I feel connected to him in many ways and because nothing would make me happier than seeing him regain his independence and quality of life.
There is still hope: Andrea may be able to undergo a specialized surgery that could significantly improve his condition. However, the procedure and related treatment are extremely expensive.
That is why I’ve organized this fundraising. If you can chip in, not only will you contribute to offering him a better future, but you will also enjoy a very nice meal by the water at Le Regatta. :-)
