Wild Orange Hide & Eat is an estate ideally located between the mountains and the sea where your host Senka will prepare a unique dining experience for you, overlooking the marvelous South Adriatic region. A short 2 minute drive will bring you to a lovely, pristine beach. If you prefer walking, it will take you around 10 minutes to enjoy the sea. A 16th century Monastery is just steps away and it
is possible to organize a walk with your hosts to show you the beautiful surroundings. You also get to pick and sample some of the lovely Mediterranean herbs growing in the vicinity. Your host Senka (which literally translates to ‘shadow’) has a personality that is as colorful as the food that she serves. Her wide array of experiences have one thing in common – GOOD FOOD! She has roamed the planet as a VIP Private Jet hostess, always on the look out for the perfect bite across different cultures. Gathering recipes, secret ingredients, and traditional methods of preparing the most delicious food directly from the source, is Senka’s passion. She continued to perfect her cooking and food presentation skills, sourcing the best possible ingredients while working as a House Manger, Menu Selector and Taster for many famous and accomplished clients. Having lived throughout Greece and its many islands, from Cypress to Thasos, Santorini to Lefkada, Senka acquired a sophisticated taste for the luscious Mediterranean cuisine: she prepares it with such flair and raw talent that it can only leave you asking for more! Here at the Wild Orange, in her own private garden, tucked away from the rest of the world and surrounded by the wild greenery of the South Adriatic region, Senka grows some of her own herbs and vegetables, while others she harvests in the wild, just a few steps away from her home. This environment of hers is so magical and unique that it will leave you breathless. The food at the Wild Orange is an eclectic mixture of some of the most famous and delicious local specialties, with a twist of course! The ingredients are all sourced from the local farms with whose owners the hosts are well acquainted. Organic food at its best, to say the least. Whether it’s fish or meat, cheese or various pastries, appetizers and desserts, this feast will leave a lasting impression on your culinary experiences to date. The drinks are homemade and are absolutely unforgettable. One of the signature aperitifs to greet you at the Wild Orange is SURPRISE! SURPRISE! a wild orange liquor with a dash of coffee! Sour and umami at the same time, it represents the perfect opening for the courses to come. The house itself is as lovely as the food. Built on the base of an ancient stone house owned by the host family, it combines the old with the new in beautiful and unexpected ways. Watch out for the details, everything has been carefully selected by the hosts - Senka & Lazo, from across Europe, its flea markets, antique fairs etc. Each element tells its own story, much like the food served. Senka will be happy to welcome you into her kitchen and her rich world of recipes! In agreement with the hosts, cooking classes can be organized as well. Babies, kids and pets are all welcome at the Wild Orange. No need to worry about your kid’s food as Senka will lovingly prepare a meal for your little ones. Jerry, the gorgeous cat and Radiša the bunny will probably show their faces at some point as well.
