The Tale of the True Bread “Toshkent”

If you mix ghee, salt, wheat flour, and water, you’ll certainly get bread. But only our baker, Dustim, knows how to turn this combination into “Tashkentsky” bread.
The recipe for this flatbread dates back to the 19th century and was served at festive tables. The highlight of the recipe was a topping of roasted sesame seeds.

Soft bread with a crispy center pairs perfectly with tomato bruschetta or a hot dish.

Come for this bread at the Fish Pavilion of the Central Market, and let its warmth become part of your dinner with your loved ones.

Dried Fruits from Uzbekistan: A Taste Born of Sun and Tradition

When the sun generously warms the fertile valleys of Uzbekistan, something extraordinary is created. Dried fruits, prepared using ancient methods, are more than just a snack—they are a piece of culture, telling the story of a land where every fruit ripens at its own perfect pace.

Black raisins – tiny, sweet gems with an earthy aroma, perfect for cheese boards, morning oatmeal, or as a handful of delight at the end of the day.

Apricots with pits – their firm texture and rich flavor evoke warm summer days when fruits are dried under the open sun.
Pitted apricots – soft, sweet, and tender. Enjoy them with yogurt, add them to baked goods, or eat them as they are—pure bliss.

Prunes with pits – a deep, complex flavor that unfolds with every bite. Try them with roasted meat or simply as a natural dessert.

Available at our «Uzbeku sēta» shop at the Central Market.
