A little flashback before we say goodbye…

So, who’s behind the scenes at the Wooden Spoon?
Alicja and Gökçe, two expat women whose paths have accidentally crossed in Luxembourg🍀”
This is how we introduced ourselves when it all began.
Two women from different backgrounds, who met by chance, shared love for good food, and decided to build something of their own.
We left behind the identities we had been given by our education and previous careers, and chose to pursue something that felt closer to who we were, what we loved, and what we believed in.
We had no idea then how much this little wooden spoon would stir our lives. ❤️
There were long days, countless dishes, laughter, tears, unexpected challenges, and so many beautiful memories along the way.
Running a small business is never easy. And in a place like Luxembourg, with high rents and the ever-rising costs of running a business, keeping a small food business going can be an especially difficult journey.
When our lease came to an end, we had to make the difficult decision to close The Wooden Spoon.
It wasn’t an easy goodbye, but we are incredibly grateful for everything this little business gave us — the people we met, the things we learned, and all the memories we made along the way.
Thank you to everyone who ordered from us, supported us, recommended us, and became part of The Wooden Spoon story. ❤️
And now, it is time for another chapter.
We are sure that life will bring new and beautiful things our way. 🍀
