To our patrons
It has been a while since we posted. We have missed as much as you missed us.

When we closed our doors in March 2020, we thought it would be for a little while. We thought COVID would go away as quickly as it came but alas, that was not to be.

We are aware that as we continue to remain closed some eateries have reopened and we congratulate them. We have been hard at work firstly trying to understand how the Cafe’ can function within the pandemic, how we can ensure the safety of our customers as well as that of our staff, particularly when our industry is considered as a COVID hotspot.

We are also aware that those that have gone back to trade have had to take a huge financial knock- fewer patrons, no sit in meals, ban on alcohol sales, takeaway options, the list is endless.

Well, we are happy to announce in the midst of all the uncertainty created by the pandemic, we are coming back to business. New thinking, new approach as COVID dictates. Watch this space- and yes we are reopening soon.

In the meantime we hope you are still 😷, you have 💉, and you are 🧗🏿🏇🏾🏋🏾⛷☃️🏃‍♀️🚴‍♀️💃.

Stay safe, keep fit until the next post.
God bless

Day 354 of Lockdown
It has been tough
Covid has robbed us of people we loved
But through it all we are conquerors

Today’s post is sparked by NACOSEC’s post, “physical(not social) distancing. This just gave context to what I have been meaning to talk about. How we can celebrate important occasions in our lives with those we love when the new norm says even when we are in the green zone there can only be 50 guests at a wedding? Believe you me I am finding it difficult to pen down who those guests will be🙈
Now let’s interrogate this poster. We can still talk to those we love even when we are physically distanced from them💪🏽💪🏽 My best form of communication? WhatsApp calls of course, now add video call and voila 8 people can see and talk to each other. Nothing stops us from booking and blocking this time and making it special. We can decide how to dress for this call, what drinks to have and how to set the table.
Virtual parties / celebrations are the new norm, I will share with you how we celebrated a thirtieth with a bang.
We ordered cake, ordered a tablescape designer and even had a dress code “heels and hats. I hope we can assist you plan your important occasion during these trying times.

In order to minimize the spread of the coronavirus, eateries are encouraged to serve takeaway food. This means we have to be creative in our menu offerings as well as service turnaround times in order to accommodate this new normal.
So last week I watched a cooking show I think it is called “Dinner with Somizi” I see eyes rolling, yes Somizi, Somgaga. I love the foods that he prepares for his quests and invariably I try them out and put my own twist to them (because sometimes I don’t have the luxury of his ingredients 😂🙈)
I tried the rice he prepared for one of his quests and I thought I should share it with you. I think it could be a good takeaway meal served with sausage/meatballs/fish/drumsticks your choice.
So here goes the Somgaga rice with sausage. Enjoy

There is always a good reason to have tea. When you have had a rough day, at the beginning of a day or just nje. Yep, just because you can have tea.
So today we are having tea because:
a) It’s the new year: selemo sa Basotho Se thoasitse
b) August ke khoeli ea Mosadi oa Moafrica: Women’s month
c) Nje. I just feel like having tea.
We are busy preparing our soil in our gardens. Let’s hope this is going to be a good year . And last but not least Khoeli ea Mosadi oa MoAfrica is close to my heart.
I would like our patrons to post along with me their photos where they are dressed in their African attires.

Let’s talk about Tea Time.
I love tea. I promise you I could have tea every hour if my body could take it. I love tea served in a goood warm TEACUP and saucer, and of course served from a teapot.
So last year we went to Matsieng with a few ladies from Pitseng to have “Tea with the Queen “ Just like we read about tea with Queen Elizabeth being a fuss (for the ladies) the same is true here in Lesotho.
The ladies dress up and put on the loveliest hats and go to the royal village, lay their tables and have tea with the Queen.
I will share with you how we dressed our table for that day. Khaola heee.
