A journey through the Golden Valley of Ceylon.

During his visits to Sri Lanka, Bogawantalawa's Brand Ambassador for the Europe region, Stijn Van Schoonlandt, spent time across our estates to experience the people, places and processes behind 150 years of tea making.

His journey took him to the estates of the Golden Valley of Ceylon including Bogawantalawa, Bogawana, Kotiyagalla, Norwood, Loinorn, Wanarajah and Fettresso, where he experienced the growing conditions, cultivation and harvesting methods, tea manufacturing process, specialty teas that unique to Bogawantalawa Teas and what make us stands out among others.

With a deeper understanding of Bogawantalawa Teas from source to cup, combined with his extensive tea knowledge, this marks the beginning of a long and meaningful partnership, creating new opportunities to share our heritage, craftsmanship and exceptional teas with tea enthusiasts throughout the region.

Welcoming an Ambassador to Represent the World's First Climate Positive Teas Across Europe.

Today marks an important milestone in the global journey of Bogawantalawa Tea Ceylon as we officially welcomed Stijn Van Schoonlandt as the Brand Ambassador for Bogawantalawa Teas in the European region, formalized through the signing of a partnership agreement.

A Certified International Tea Master and Tea Blender, entrepreneur, educator, a member of the Board of Directors of the European Specialty Tea Association and Regional Director – Europe of the International Tea Masters Association, Mr. Stijn has earned recognition within the global tea industry for his work in tea education, sensory evaluation and market development.

His experience extends beyond education, having represented tea at international events, collaborated with embassies to promote tea origins and worked closely with tea producers to strengthen their presence in European markets. His ability to combine tea expertise, authentic storytelling, commercial insight and industry relationships makes him a valuable partner as Bogawantalawa continues to grow its footprint across the region.
As the Brand Ambassador in Europe, Mr. Stijn will represent Bogawantalawa Teas at international exhibitions, conduct tea tastings and masterclasses, strengthen relationships with trade partners and share the story behind our teas with consumers and industry professionals. His role will help bring the heritage, craftsmanship and sustainability that define Bogawantalawa Teas to a wider audience across Europe.

The agreement was signed at the Bogawantalawa Tea Processing Centre in the presence of Almas Marikkar, Director & CEO, Abhishek Ambani, Director of Overseas Operations and Ruvini Senarathna, Manager – Marketing & Brand Development, reflecting our continued commitment to expanding the presence of the world's first climate positive teas across Europe.
The event concluded with an exclusive tea tasting session featuring selections from the Bogawantalawa Luxury Collection, Ceylon Tea Gardens and our Specialty Tea range, offering Mr. Stijn the opportunity to experience the distinct character and craftsmanship behind each collection.

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Stijn Van Schoonlandt to Bogawantalawa Tea Ceylon. His knowledge, passion and extensive network within the global tea community will be instrumental as we continue introducing the world's first climate positive teas from the Golden Valley of Ceylon to discerning consumers across Europe.

On the invitation of His Excellency Omar Lebbe Ameer Ajwad, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bogawantalawa Teas paid a courtesy visit at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh.

Representing Bogawantalawa Tea Ceylon were Mr. Almas Marikkar, Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anne Ranasinghe, Manager - Customer and Market Development, Middle East Region and Kabeer Tharick, Assistant Manager – Product Innovation and Infusions.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss strengthening Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia trade relations through the continued growth of Ceylon Tea exports, while exploring opportunities to enhance the presence of the world's first climate positive teas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The exchange also highlighted Bogawantalawa Teas continued expansion into organically cultivated herbs and spices, including vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and turmeric, reflecting Sri Lanka's growing capabilities in premium, origin based agricultural products.

We extend our sincere appreciation to His Excellency for his warm hospitality and valuable insights and look forward to contributing to the continued growth of Sri Lankan tea exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
