The first branch opened at Walkers Building which was one of the most prestigious buildings built by the British in 1840, in the heart of the Kandy City on Dalada Veediya the (former Ward Street). Within a short period of time Foodlands Restaurant became a household name in the city and in outskirts mainly due to the quality of food served to the customers with real taste and flavor at an affordab
le price. Due to the prime location and quality of the foods served it did not take long for Foodlands to capture the local & tourist clientele that visited Kandy throughout the year. As the business activities progressed Foodlands took over the management of Milano Restaurant, Nuwara Eliya, in the year 1993. The growth continued with the blessings of our loyal customers and Foodlands opened its third branch Colombo-Kandy road in 2000, at Warakapola. For a brief period between 2003 & 2008, Foodlands took over the management of the famous Hotel Rehans, in Kandy. The main activity at this location was banqueting, catering to the many events in and around Kandy, with a capacity to accommodate more than 1000 guests at a time.
