This month’s SLNHS Sri Lanka Natural History Society Monthly Lecture, sponsored by George Steuart & Company, ventures into the night to explore one of nature’s most fascinating predators.
Having evolved over millions of years for life after dark, owls possess remarkable adaptations that allow them to navigate, hunt, and survive largely unseen. “Owls. The Hidden Hunters” will explore these extraordinary abilities before turning closer to home to discover the owls of Sri Lanka and the species that inhabit our own landscapes.
The session will be led by Deepal Warakagoda, an avid birdlife explorer who has spent over four decades observing and studying Sri Lankan birds.
Through Steuart Senehasa, our corporate social responsibility arm, we are proud to continue supporting the Sri Lanka Natural History Society in creating opportunities to discover, understand, and appreciate the remarkable biodiversity of our island.
Join us on 15th September at 6.00 PM at the University of Colombo for an evening exploring the hidden world that comes alive after dark.
