It was a pleasure welcoming our long-standing partner from Japan, Mr. Fujimoto of Asia Shokuhin Co., Ltd., along with Mrs. Fujimoto, to the George Steuart Teas Factory in Thalwatta, Kelaniya.

The visit offered an opportunity to slow down over a cup of original Ceylon tea, in the company of the George Steuart team, including Mr. Sarva Ameresekere - Group Chairman of George Steuart & Co , Mr. Dai Pathmanathan - Managing Director of George Steuart Teas, Mr. Amithpriya Liyanage - Director Finance, and senior members of the George Steuart Teas team.

It was a pleasure to welcome our long standing client from the UK, Sun Generation, to George Steuart Tea during their visit to Sri Lanka.

Our relationship with Sun Generation began in 2010 and has grown over 15 years, shaped by trust, consistency, and a shared respect for the heritage of Ceylon tea.

During their visit, Ms. Tatyana Chernomoretz, Head of Production, and Mr. Kasun Kohona, Overseas Tea Manager, were hosted by Dilukshan Fernando, Director Sales of George Steuart Tea, and Sarva Ameresekere, Group Chairman of George Steuart and Company.

Building on partnerships with clients who share our commitment to excellence in Ceylon tea is one of the most rewarding aspects of what we do, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.

George Steuart & Company marked its 190 year milestone with a series of community initiatives carried out across the Group under the Steuart Senehasa initiative, reaffirming its long standing commitment to giving back to society.

As part of this effort, George Steuart Teas undertook a year long programme titled English for Life, delivering structured English language courses to students from the plantation communities in Haputale, in collaboration with Winrose International Campus. The initiative was designed to equip young learners with practical language skills that will support their education and future opportunities.

The Group Chairman of George Steuart & Company, Mr. Sarva Ameresekere, together with the Managing Director of George Steuart Teas, Mr. Dai Pathmanathan, the Chief Operating Officer and Director Sales of George Steuart Teas, Mr. Dilukshan Fernando, and the Director Finance of George Steuart Teas, Mr. Amithpriya Liyanage, recently visited the school in Haputale to engage with the students and witness the impact of the programme first-hand.

Rooted in the Group’s Api culture, the initiative reflects a people first approach to community upliftment, focused on creating meaningful and lasting change. The visit and the programme were featured on Manusath Derana, highlighting the collective effort to empower the next generation.

George Steuart Teas (Pvt) Ltd had the honour of participating at the charity auction organised by the Ceylon Tea Traders Association and Ceylon Brokers Association. At the auction we contributed 2 million LKR purchasing two award winning tea caskets far a worthy cause.

The contribution is for the contemporary education of children of the estate workers as conducive environment with Smart classrooms, under the guidance of specially trained teachers.
