Our students doing fire safety training! Safety first.

Safety first!

Our vocational training students in our training restaurant Makphet, recently took part in a hands-on fire safety session, learning how to use a fire extinguisher correctly and what to do in the event of a fire.

Learning practical workplace safety skills is an important part of preparing young people for employment. Alongside their vocational skills, students are gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to stay safe in the workplace and respond to emergencies.

Grateful thanks for supporting Makphet!

Last week, we were pleased to welcome representatives from the French Embassy in Vientiane and a French International Technical Expert on Child Cybercrime and Regional Advisor for ASEAN to Makphet Restaurant.

The meeting and lunch provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss the child protection situation in Laos, including the growing risks of online abuse and the support services available to children who may be at risk or experiencing abuse.

These conversations are important for strengthening collaboration, sharing expertise, and finding better ways to protect children both offline and online.

Together, we can work towards safer environments and stronger support systems for children and young people in Laos.

Teamwork starts long before the first whistle blows.

Our Makphet team was proud to prepare fresh, delicious meals for the Peuan Mit Together Cup 2026, helping fuel a day of sports, friendship, and community.

Every dish was prepared with care, because we believe that sharing good food brings people together, on and off the field.

Wrapping khao tom (traditional sticky rice cakes) is a cherished Lao tradition during the Buddhist Lent festival. A time to come together, share stories, and celebrate culture.

Our students had the opportunity to learn this meaningful tradition by preparing and wrapping the sticky rice cakes together. Through experiences like these, they’re not only developing culinary skills but also gaining a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage that inspires many of the dishes we serve.

Preserving traditions, building skills, and creating , one wrap at a time.

Eat well. Do well.
