Everyone in the city knew the tattooed man.
And everyone feared him.
So when he suddenly collapsed outside a crowded café, not a single person moved to help.
Customers stayed behind the glass, filming with their phones as if they were watching a show.
Everyone—except Mia.
She was only a struggling waitress, constantly mocked by her manager and blamed for every mistake in the café.
But without hesitation, she ran outside and knelt beside the stranger.
The man’s breathing was weak.
His hand closed around her wrist as he pushed a locked phone into her palm.
“Call the first number,” he whispered.
Then his eyes shifted toward the café entrance.
“And whatever happens… don’t let him come near me.”
Mia looked over her shoulder.
Her manager was standing directly behind her.
He wasn’t concerned.
He looked terrified.
Mia pressed the call button.
Someone answered immediately.
Before she could explain, a cold voice said:
“Listen carefully. The man standing behind you is the reason he’s lying there.”
Mia’s blood ran cold.
Her manager stepped closer and forced a smile.
“Give me the phone, Mia.”
Then three black vehicles stopped sharply in front of the café.
Men in dark suits rushed toward them.
The manager’s face turned pale as the tattooed stranger slowly opened his eyes.
That was when Mia finally understood.
Her manager wasn’t afraid she had helped a dangerous man.
He was afraid she had saved the only person who could expose him.
The stranger looked directly at the manager and whispered:
“You should have made sure I never woke up.”
Then he turned to Mia.
“And you… just became the most important witness in this city.”
