☕🇪🇺 A Memorable Day at Sahai Lao Coffee

Last week, We and Shompoo Cruise team were truly honored to co-host a delegation from the European Parliament to our café as part of their visit to Northern Laos under the Green Cup Project, an important development cooperation initiative supporting sustainable agriculture and the coffee sector.

This visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the work we have been carrying out over the past two years alongside local coffee farmers and communities. It was a chance to share our vision of creating a more sustainable, transparent, and prosperous coffee value chain in Northern Laos.

One of the highlights of the day was the direct exchange with the Head Chief of Ban Long Lan, demonstrating how coffee can become more than an agricultural product. Through innovative initiatives such as coffee tourism and agro-tourism experiences, farming communities can generate additional sources of income while preserving their culture and environment.

We are incredibly proud to see these ideas becoming reality and creating tangible opportunities for local families.

To conclude the workshop, everyone had the chance to roast and prepare their own bag of coffee—a fun and memorable experience that perfectly illustrated the journey from farm to cup.

What a fantastic day, and what an achievement for all the farmers, partners, and supporters who have contributed to this journey. Together, we continue to prove that coffee can be a powerful tool for sustainable rural development.

Throwback to an amazing few days at the ICTD 2026 event at Parkson Vientiane ☕✨

It was truly great to reconnect with some of the most active actors of the Lao coffee sector, exchange ideas, share experiences, and celebrate together the passion behind Lao coffee.

Always a pleasure to meet old friends again, but also inspiring to discover new faces, new projects, and new energy shaping the future of our coffee community. 🇱🇦
