About our name – Mise en Place (pronounced “meez on plahss”) is a French culinary term that refers to the organization and preparation of all ingredients and equipment to be used in cooking or serving food. The literal translation is “set in place”. It was a phrase that MEP founder and managing director Sean Collins heard countless times while studying at Johnson and Wales College of Food Innovation and Technology in the USA.
