삶과 죽음, 현실과 꿈의 경계에 걸린 형이상적 순간들 “현재 나를 이루고 있는 것이 무엇일까?” 어린시절 느꼈던 감정의 한 조각
나는 꿈 혹은 상상속에 반복되는 이미지를 접한다
머릿속을 떠나지 않는 그 이미지를 조합하다보면
내면의 ‘어린 자아’를 이해하지 않을까?

강렬한 이미지들을 해체하고
반대로 산재되고 침식된,
그러나 기억속에 끊임없이 반복되는 기억들을
다시 재조합하는 작업을 한다
거친 질감과 색상, 사진, 신문조각 등을 이용해
현실과 꿈의 경계를 콜라주로 표현한다

The borderline moment Vol. 2
- The metaphysical moments between death and life, dream and reality -
The second Globe Bistro artist, Gunhee Lee is a korean contemporary visual artist based in Seoul.
Her paintings often incorporate harsh texture and color with variety of techniques, including an under-painting using collage of varius objects, such as photographs, newspapers on oline or found in garbage bins. She sees that this sort of 'patchwork' is her way to express a recombination of dispersed memories, space-time.
She loves making strong images by deconstructing and merging scattered,
eroded but also very repetitive memories.
