Sophie is from that ole' School Itaewon Elpino323 days where I refused to let customers take off cilantro, where I played nothing but Cali gangsta rap on Elpino323's Playlist. This is whem a waitress had to be tough as hell following my rules & having to argue with customers over food & music she was 1 of our best ever to work the floor in Itaewon. She came back to visit Korea from Germany with her boyfriend & came all the way from Seoul to see us but also because she missed Elpino323's Mexican cuisine. It was both a joy to see her again and watch her enjoy eating our food 😋 Thank you Sophia, I know I've done something right when my kids from the day's come all the way here to see us 😊 My goodness the memories on this girl! You made our day 💙 ❤️

I watch all this s**t on Instagram on what these younger generation think about Blood in Blood Out and you'll just don't get the Iconic movie at all . S**t ain't about Miklo hating his Gr**go dad nor that he's hurt and tarnished from his relationship with with his white father. Blood in Blood Out, " Sangre por sangre " Is about East LA , Boyle Heights and that gang life . Don't trash that story because you'll don't know La Rasa nor the roots to East LA , gang life back then was about familia not the s**t s**t you see these days. My life comes parallel to this story a bit and why Elpino323 is the name of my restaurant.

Elpino323 will be going through some changes.

For a long time, we have worked extremely hard to maintain the way we operate and, most importantly, to never compromise the quality and authenticity of our food. I’ll be honest—part of that came from my own pride and ego as a Mexican chef. I have always wanted to keep Elpino323 true to what I believe Mexican food should be, while trying to stay relevant in an area that, unfortunately, does not always recognize or care about the history behind this restaurant or the work I have put into it.

But there comes a time when you have to take care of yourself, your family, and your business.

The reality is that we simply cannot sustain evening dine-in service anymore. As difficult as that decision is, we have to be realistic about where Elpino323 is going and what makes sense for our future.

Because of this, Elpino323 will be ending dine-in service in three months.

December 31st will be the final day of dine-in service at Elpino323.

I chose this picture to make a comment on what Elpino323's Mexican cuisine is all about. I normally never react nor comment on people's feedbacks that are negative about Elpino323, well, I have not in at least 5 years until tonight. Elpino323's Mexican Cuisine isn't built off of anyone's idea but my own and I've tried everything traditional when I first started doing my own Mexican cuisines 15 years ago. Lately people have issues with our Mexican rice claiming its not Mexican, some even going as far as to offer their families rice recipes like I don't know the 4 basic Mexican rice recipes from Mexico. Mexican food to me shouldn't be followed by rules of what Mexican cuisines are normally but followed by the amazing ingredients from Mexico at ones disposal. There aren't any Mexican restaurants here in Korea that uses Mexican peppers, tomotillos, masa, lime, lemon, to the level of Elpino323 I can guarantee you that. Our menu is strictly built on us being different from everyone else and we won't apologize for that. We are who we are and we have survived this long because of that. I take issues when people say anything on my menu" Isn't Mexican " It's Elpino323's Mexican. 95 % of everything we do at Elpino323 is handmade there are no shortcuts with Elpino323's Mexican and never will be but I will defend Elpino323 when people claim anything we make is not of Mexican flavors. It's just not for 1 or 2 people every once in awhile and that's you'll choice. I don't like talking on social media anymore but I will defend our brand when people are wrong.
