’자영업자의 쉬는 날‘
추운 겨울에도, 더운 여름에도 좁은 주방에서 해가 떠있는 시간을 보내는 저희는 4월만을 기다려요. 그리고 영업을 안하는 날 하늘이 맑기만을 바라고요. 어제 밤 주룩주룩 내리던 비 때문에 기대하지 않았는데, 파란하늘이 짠 하고 나타나서 얼른 장화, 토시, 장갑을 끼고 나섰어요. 매장에 틀어놓은 같은 재즈 음악을 몇 년 째 들어온 저희의 귀에 새소리와 바람소리를 들려주고, 탁트인 곳에서 숨을 깊이 들이쉬고, 햇볕을 즐길 수 있었던 오늘 오후는 정말 완벽했어요. 짧았지만, 오늘 오후 보낸 시간만으로도 이번 주는 더 즐겁게 일하며, 반갑게 손님들을 맞이할 수 있을 것 같아요!

On our days off, we wait for April.
After long hours in a narrow kitchen—through winter’s cold and summer’s heat—we simply hope for clear skies.

Last night’s rain made us doubt it, but suddenly, a blue sky appeared. We hurried out, pulling on our boots and gloves. Instead of the same jazz we’ve played for years, we heard birds and wind, breathed deeply, and stood in the open sunlight.

It was brief, but perfect—
and just enough to carry us into the week, ready to welcome our guests again.

Chocolate flows without hurry
trusting its own weight, finding its own way.
Beneath it, vanilla cream waits in quiet.
Above it, strawberries and flowers raised by Jeju sun
take their place, unhurried too.
This is how beauty is made.
When what must flow, flows.
