Java Creative Café

Java Creative Café Java Creative Café is a café and community art space serving Phnom Penh since 2000 “Java” is a slang for coffee and that’s where our story begins.

In 2000 we opened our first location with a small team of seven serving fresh coffee and baked goods. Since then we’ve expanded our menu from breakfast to dinner, while staying true to our food philosophy. We make every dish in our kitchen from only fresh ingredients. We have pioneered a creative enterprise model in Cambodia, using resources of the café to support non-profit and independent art pr

ograms. Across the three spaces, it presents a curated series of exhibitions, Creative Generation award program and live performances in a black box theater.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of Ox Herding II by Georg Whelan at Java Creative Café.

The exhibition brought together new works by Georg exploring art history, religious imagery, everyday visual culture, and experimentation in print-making.
