FROM NIGHT SECURITY GUARD TO FIRST-CLASS GRADUATE: ELVAS KIPRUTO’S INSPIRING MKU JOURNEY

Thika, Kenya — August 7, 2026.

A remarkable story of hard work, sacrifice and determination unfolded at Mount Kenya University as Elvas Kipruto Kiptuwei graduated with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Education Science (Chemistry & Physics).

Kipruto’s journey to the graduation square is particularly inspiring. While pursuing his studies during the day, he worked as a night security guard to support his education—balancing work, academics and leadership responsibilities.

Beyond the classroom, he served diligently as the former MKUSA Secretary General, where he played a key role in student leadership and service to the university community.

His achievement has drawn admiration from the Mount Kenya University fraternity, with colleagues and fellow students celebrating his discipline, resilience, academic excellence and commitment to leadership.

Kipruto’s story is a powerful reminder that circumstances do not have to define one’s destiny. Through determination, sacrifice and consistent effort, the seemingly impossible can become achievable.

As he begins the next chapter of his academic and professional journey, the university fraternity joins in congratulating Elvas Kipruto Kiptuwei on this outstanding achievement.

Congratulations, Kiongozi! 🎓🏆
