Thank you to Kalpesh Solanki and his guests last night for this wonderful gift marking the Centenary of the Sikh Union Club in Nairobi, featuring the logo! ✨️🫶🏾

Originally known as Khalsa Union, the was founded in around 1926, and has been a cornerstone of the Sikh community in Kenya. It's renowned for producing legendary international field hockey players like Avtar Singh Sohal ("Sohal") 🏑

The club’s roots are tied to the early 20th century Sikh settlers in Kenya, who established various Gurdwaras and community institutions, such as the Gurudwara Sahib Railways Landhies founded in 1901. Mohindar Singh was active in this community 🧡

Many 100 year celebrations will be taking place throughout this year with many visiting from overseas too - we look forward to welcoming everyone to and hearing all the stories from years gone by! 🤗

A thank you for the birthday love message from Boss 😊

"I don’t really celebrate my birthday for personal reasons, but I just needed to personally say a big thank you for all the Birthday wishes. I really have been so shocked and overwhelmed.  I was working at a catering event on my birthday and arrived back at Mohinder’Corner to find birthday cake, a post on socials and later find friends gathering too.

As I was about to cut my cake, a daughter of one of our regulars here approached me and told me it was ger Dad’s 60th birthday and circumstances meant they couldn't celebrate, so I had to get him to cut cake with me too! It’s all about our customers and the more the merrier!

We’re working so, so hard here planning some big changes here to make your experience even better. Thank you for persevering with us with some niggles here and there as we start testing and changing things. I’m excited for what’s to come at Mohinder’s but it’s also quite stressful! So I wasn’t in the mood and actually, as I said, I don’t really ever celebrate my birthday... But this was such a welcome surprise. I haven’t laughed so much in such a long, long time!  Thank you so, so much. Mingi love! 🙏🏽🧡"

Chef PJ is keeping Grandfather (Mohindar Singh) and Father’s legacy alive in Nairobi, having gained his skillset and experience working globally and returned to reopen the renowned Mohinder’s Corner here in Westlands! ✨️

We know he’s got exciting things planned for Mohinder’s Corner, but today we’re going to try to make him take a well deserved day off and celebrate! 🥳

Our Lohri special set menu featuring is available from today until Sunday, and we'll be lighting a Lohri fire this Saturday for you to throw your moongfali (monkey nuts) and puffed rice, and there will be rewdis and popcorn and ladoos too 🎉🌽🌾
