Today, on World Reef Day, we pause to honor the living reef systems that make GoldenEye’s bay so extraordinary.
Beneath the surface, coral reefs support marine life, protect our coastline, and create the conditions for the quiet moments our guests remember most - snorkeling over clear blue water, watching fish move through the reef, seeing sea turtles glide through the lagoon, or witnessing the wonder of a Hawksbill sea turtle hatching.
Through the work of the GoldenEye Foundation and our Oracabessa Fish Sanctuary team, as well the Fishers Association - ongoing efforts continue to help protect and restore the health of Oracabessa Bay, including coral replanting and marine conservation initiatives that support the delicate balance of life beneath the water.
Because every swim, every snorkel, every turtle sighting, and every moment in the bay begins with a healthy reef.
This World Reef Day, we celebrate the beauty below the surface; and the work being done to protect it.
