Kids are back at school, summer holidays are officially over and the beach is getting a little quieter.

So we’re slipping into our September rhythm too.

Monday + Tuesday — closed
Wednesday – Sunday — open from 9am

Still plenty of beach mornings, coffee, breakfast and lunch ahead — just at a slightly slower pace. As always, we’re a little at the mercy of the beach weather, so keep an eye on our Stories for any last-minute weather updates or changes to closing times.

🏖️ The owner of a popular beach cafe says ongoing problems with litter, vandalism and damaged picnic benches are becoming “unmanageable”.

The Hungry Whale at Long Beach has appealed for people to take greater care of the area, saying staff are regularly left clearing rubbish and retrieving furniture moved across the beach.

We’re more than excited that Tuk Tuk has found a temporary home with us — and even happier that you’ve welcomed them so warmly. Bookings are now open for the rest of the month.

Come down. Support them. Show them some love. And please be patient while they settle into their new little beach home.

You’ll also see some new faces around in the evenings. Our Hungry Whale team is already working very hard and very long days, and we simply can’t ask them to add another night shift every day of the week.

Hospitality isn’t just about serving food. It’s about looking after each other.

When we heard Tuk Tuk Thai couldn’t open this summer because of the delays on Gorey Pier, it didn’t feel right to watch from the sidelines.

So we’re opening their kitchen at ours.
