We walked until we started feeling hungry. We found a restaurant called “Ristorante Al Conte Pescaor” (between Sotoportego Primo Lucatello and Calle S. Zulian Gia Del Strazzarol). It was off the beaten path of San Marco. We wanted to find a restaurant that wasn’t swarmed by tourists! We started with an antipasti of insalata caprese. Lauren and I shared Pinot Grigio and seafood risotto. The risotto was rich and creamy. We wanted to try and eat as much fish while we were here since Venice is well known for its seafood.

What a lovely place to be! Molto simpatico. Very good food and friendly service in a cozy atmosphere. Try the sarde in saor or the fegato di vitello alla veneziana (or both). Revelations!
