f you want to try our tasting menu, or if you just want to have a quick snack and a glass of good wine, we will welcome you always with a professional and gentle touch, in the full tradition of Piedmont’s courtesy. Every day we make fresh pasta and we bake our own bread and pastry. Our menu changes daily, according to the freshest products that can be found in the market. Our cuisine follows the opportunities offered by the seasonal availability of vegetables, meats and fishes, in full respect of Piedmont’s traditional cooking. However, at times, here at le Vitel étonné we like to reinvent the tradition, making it lighter and more innovative. When we select our raw materials, we prefer to choose Fassone meat (an incredibly tender variety of local beef breed), farm vegetables, cheeses from the Val di Susa in the Italian Alps, and precious local flour varieties to make bread and polenta. The Piedmont’s culinary tradition is also rich with dishes based on cod and anchovies: our supply arrives directly from Norway and Cantabrian Sea, in the north of Spain, in order to provide us with the best products for our clients. Recently, at Le Vitel étonné we also started our home/made fresh pasta retail. We propose different kinds of pasta every day, our speciality being an old and traditional recipe of Tajarin, a local variety of noodles made with 35 egg yolks for each 1kg of flour. Try also the Agnolotti Torinesi, filled with three different and flavourful roasted meats. And if you want to try something even more daring, go for our Tagliatelle with veal sausage (Tagliatelle alla salsiccia di Bra) or the various kinds of Plin ( a local type of small agnolotti) filled with different kinds of filling, like goat cheese, meat, buffalo mozzarella cheese, fish and countless other delicious filling. Naturally, we do have a choice of dishes for customers with different tastes, like vegetarian or vegan, and we also cater gluten free food for people suffering from celiac disease. And yes, as promised, no matter when you’ll show up, every day you will be able to find in the menu our famous Vitello Tonnato, soft, savoury, delicious, the best in Turin! Definitely worth trying! To accompany our food, you will find a wine list of over 300 labels. In our wonderful cellar with picturesque vaults dated back to early Nineteenth Century, you will be able to choose your bottle, or even taste our selection by the glass,
Le Vitel étonné is open from 12.00 am to 24 pm, so that you can taste a Vitello Tonnato, a dish of Tajarin or simply a glass of wine any time you prefer. Or if you like, you can also take away with you food, pasta or wine to enjoy at home or with your friends.
