TavernAllegra is the restaurant in the center of Sorrento, in an ancient palace of the fifteenth century. In the past the premises now used to catering and the entertainment were the stables of the owner of the building Aragonese family. Via Pietà it was at that time (before the construction of the Italian course) the main thoroughfare as verging and leading to the Cathedral of Sorrento and on it opened several taverns for passenger refreshment, staging posts for changing horses as well as several workshops of artisans dedicated to the typical Sorrento inlay. Enter the TavernAllegra is a unique experience, is like taking a sudden leap back in time: the original arches in local green tuff seem to tell their ancient stories and the aromas and flavors of the food of the typical and traditional cuisine as well as' the notes of the music and the songs that hover between their sometimes create an atmosphere and a satisfaction of the palate and spirit and 'impossible to recreate artificially. TavernAllegra è il ristorante nel centro di Sorrento, in un antico palazzo del secolo XV. In passato i locali oggi adibiti alla ristorazione ed all’intrattenimento erano le stalle della famiglia aragonese proprietaria dello stabile. Via Pietà era a quell’epoca (prima della costruzione del Corso Italia) l’arteria principale cittadina in quanto rasentava e conduceva alla Cattedrale di Sorrento e su di essa si aprivano svariate taverne per il ristoro dei viaggiatori, stazioni di posta per il cambio dei cavalli nonchè parecchi laboratori di artigiani dediti al tipico intarsio sorrentino. Entrare nella TavernAllegra rappresenta un’esperienza unica, è come fare un repentino salto all’indietro nel tempo: gli archi originali in tufo verde locale sembrano raccontare le loro secolari storie ed i profumi ed i sapori del cibo della cucina tipica e tradizionale nonche’ le note delle musiche e della canzoni che aleggiano tra le loro volte creano un atmosfera ed una soddisfazione del palato e dello spirito che e’ impossibile da ricreare artificialmente. La disponibilità, la simpatia e l’allegria di tutto lo staff, che istantaneamente contagia i clienti, ne fanno un posto che deve essere necessariamente non visitato ma vissuto, anche solo per qualche ora, per andarsene poi soddisfatti di essere stati protagonisti di quella potrebbe benissimo essere stata la scena di un film ma che in realtà, oggigiorno, non è altro che il modo migliore di trascorrere una serata nel fascino e nella cultura, gastronomica e musicale, della ammaliante Sorrento. Oltre alle canzoni più classiche della musica napoletana e italiana, proponiamo: Con te partirò, My way, Summertime, Yesterday. Inoltre, alcune arie famose di grandi opere liriche: dal Brindisi della Traviata, per festeggiare un incontro conviviale, al Nessun Dora della Turandot, a La Donna è mobile del Rigoletto. Infine, distribuendo i tamburini della Tarantella Sorrentina, coivolgiamo tutti i commensali e presentiamo la "Tamburriata".
