We're truly grateful to Laura Dominici and the team at Il Sole 24 ORE for featuring Zunica 1880 in their story on the Teramo area, a corner of Abruzzo where nature, tradition, hospitality and good food still feel wonderfully authentic.

Our kitchen has always been about one thing: bringing this land to the table. At Relais Villa Corallo, that means working with what our gardens and farm give us each season, and letting those ingredients speak for themselves.

🌿 Calanchi: omaggio alla terra — a dish that tastes of Abruzzo itself.

Created in 2017 by chef Gianni Dezio in collaboration with the WWF Oasis Calanchi di Atri, this plate is a love letter to one of Italy's most extraordinary landscapes: the lunar, clay-carved hills of the Atri badlands.

Every ingredient is foraged from that same ecosystem — wild liquorice, capers, foraged herbs and red berries — and served on a hand-formed clay plate that echoes the calanchi themselves. The land becomes the plate; the plate becomes the land.

This is terroir you can taste: seasonal, local, and rooted in a place found nowhere else on earth.
