L'agricoltura più di ogni altro settore sta vivendo un momento di grande pressione e difficoltà a ogni livello, sia sui raccolti che di redditività complessiva. Pensiamo a ciò che è alla base della nostra alimentazione come i cereali, grano, mais, riso. Ancora non riesco a capacitarmi come venga richiesto dai consumatori di avere prodotti sempre di maggiore qualità, ma che non si sia disposti a dare il giusto valore. È più semplice spendere nell'abbigliamento, nella tecnologia, piuttosto che nel cibo (che entra nel nostro corpo e ci fa sopravvivere). Le Politiche di aiuto agli agricoltori sono sussidi davvero ridicoli. La risposta va cercata in una scala di valori che è stata completamente ribaltata e che dovrà tornare al suo posto, pena catastrofi geopolitiche di grande impatto sulle future generazioni.

More than any other sector, agriculture is under great pressure at the moment, with difficulties at every step from yields to overall profitability. Consider the basics of our diet–cereals, grains, corn and rice. I can never get over the fact that consumers continue to request higher and higher quality, but are reluctant to pay a meaningful price for it. It seems easier to spend on clothing and technology than on food (which actually enters our bodies and allows us to survive). The subsidies to aid agriculture are derisory. The reason for this is a scale of values that has been completely upended and that needs to be restored to its place if we are to avoid geopolitical disasters that will have immense impact on future generations.

Dopo 12 ore no stop a fare nell'ordine: la cantiniera, la viticoltrice, la receptionist, la magazziniera, supervisor all’imbottigliamento, operaio addetto al confezionamento e infine la mamma, mi prendo qualche meritato giorno di vacanza!
La cantina resta aperta per visite e degustazioni!

After 12 hours non-stop doing things in order: the vintner, the winegrower, the receptionist, the warehouseman, the bottling supervisor, the packaging worker and finally the mother, I take a few well-deserved days off!
The winery remains open for visits and tastings!
