Pasta-making in the hills of Cortona 🍝

Mike and his friends flew in from California and were staying just five minutes from the famous villa in Under the Tuscan Sun, Naturally we all went to see it before the class!

Over two and a half hours we made fresh pasta from scratch, dough, technique, shapes. Then moved to the kitchen to put together the sauces:Burnt Butter with sage for the gnudi ,walnut pesto for the pear and pecorino ravioli and a rich boscaiola sauce for the tagliatelle.

Bottles of wine and a lot of laughs!!

Still have availability for June, July and August. If you’d like to book a class at your villa, drop me a message.

👋If you’re new here, here’s the quick version.

I’m Celine, a private chef based near Lucca, cooking all over Tuscany for private dinners, weddings and special occasions.
I’ve been doing this for over 26 years, but it didn’t exactly follow a straight line.

I trained at Le Cordon Bleu, worked in London, then completely changed direction and spent 14 years with Alitalia. That ended up taking me to Brazil, where I lived for 6 years and ran my own restaurant.

Somewhere along the way, I also picked up a dog called Pato. He was a tiny abandoned puppy behind my restaurant and, obviously, came home with me 🐾

In 2012, we moved to Italy for what was meant to be 6 months. I’m still here.

Now I spend my time creating relaxed, personal dining experiences for people visiting Tuscany. Good food, no stress, everything taken care of.

If you’re planning something and want it done properly, send me a message.

And if you’re new here, say hi. I always like to know who’s following along. 🙂

These are the last few days before I begin to get really busy so I finally tackled some DIY, got my kitchen sorted with a new fridge, made the inevitable IKEA trip, and enjoyed some much-needed downtime. 🙌

It was time to get the bikes 🚴‍♀️out finally and we headed to San Rossore Nature Reserve for a pedal before heading further up the beach for a quick fish lunch at L’Osteria del Parco, in Marina di Vecchiano.

It’s not easy eating out with GF restrictions but they always look after me and had some of my go-to dishes. Fresh mussels with white wine, no bread for the scarpetta but a large soup spoon did the trick and anchovies with sweet picked tropea onions. I also had a dish of grilled prawns and squid but forgot to take a picture as it was so good!!🤤

What really makes this place special is it is right by the beach and the perfect spot to get to for some lovely sea air!! 🌊

I spent a lovely evening with Lance Jacobson and his family in St Andrea di Compito.

Here’s what they enjoyed:

✨ Filo pastry parcel with prosciutto, burrata & roasted pear

✨ Linguine with red shrimp & pistachio pesto — simple and delicious

✨ Tagliata with confit tomatoes

✨ Chocolate lava cake to finish

They told me it had been the best meal of the trip!! Thank you Guys!! 🙏

Being a Private Chef is never just about food. It’s about perfect planning, atmosphere, respect, and the energy at the table. But sometimes, despite your best efforts to accommodate even last minute, you face rudeness instead of gratitude. What is not on the menu is a plate thrown across the table at you and having to rummage in a bin to find packaging to prove a seabass was, in fact, a seabass. 🐟

Every dish from a beautiful 6 course menu went out as promised, every plate came back clean — yet what stayed with me wasn’t the food, but the lack of respect from 1 unfortunate person.

Bullying in the kitchen isn’t part of the service, though. Kindness is free — and tastes so much better. 💛

To all my wonderful clients: thank you for making 99% of my work pure joy. The other 1%? Well… let’s just say it makes a good story later. 😉

Every now and then I manage to get a couple of days free together, it’s rare, but it does happen😃!

This time we decided to have a long weekend in Pietra Ligure where my two friends Alessio & Silvia live.

Even though it rained the whole way there, when we arrived the sun came out and eating the real local pesto and visiting some of the most picturesque villages on the coastline. Ale and Silvia were the perfect hosts, along with Alessios top notch cocktail making at the beach bar where he works in the summer , we couldn’t want for more😆

You may have seen Alessio before in my pics from the winter. I did giggle a bit when I saw his Prime Ski poster stuck on the side of a lifeguard chair! He has a top ski instructor company in Morzine in the winter. So if anyone is heading to the alps and needs a brilliant instructor! Let me know 😜

Was definitely not long enough, but it was so good to get away and breathe some sea air!
