KUNTRAWANT, die Alt-Vinschger Mundart
für „Schmuggel“, vom italienischen
„contrabbando“ abgeleitet, gibt unserer
kleinen Rösterei ihren Namen. Heute rösten wir am Fuße des Ortlers
im traditionellen Trommelröstverfahren
erstklassige Bohnen in Handarbeit zu
hochwertigem Kaffee. KUNTRAWANT - l‘antico modo venostano
di chiamare il contrabbando dà il nome
alla nostra piccola torrefazione. Ai tempi
che furono, il caffè veniva contrabbandato
attraverso i confini. Oggi tostiamo ai
piedi dell‘Ortles il caffè di altissima qualità
in modo artigianale nella nostra
torrefazione. Our little roasting facility got its name from KUNTRAWANT, which is old Venostan Valley dialect and means "smuggling" / "contraband", derived from the Italian "contrabbando". Once coffee was smuggled from Switzerland into Italy. Today we roast first-class beans into high-quality handmade coffee by the use of the traditional drum roasting method at the foot of Mount Ortler.
