Planning to rent a car in Italy? 🇮🇹😂
There are a few things Americans quickly learn:

🚗 Parking spaces are smaller
📢 Horns don’t always mean anger
🛑 A STOP sign doesn’t always mean what you think it means

And somehow…
everything still works

Americans who have driven in Italy… what surprised you the most? 👇

Americans: “We’re visiting Florence in July!”
Italians: “That’s wonderful”
Also Italians: “Have you considered melting?” 🥵😂
Nobody prepares tourists for Florence in the summer
Who’s visited Florence in July or August? Was I exaggerating? 👇🇮🇹

Just about an hour from Florence, you’ll find one of Tuscany’s most unique beaches 🇮🇹🌊
This isn’t a fancy beach club like the ones you’ll find in Forte dei Marmi or Viareggio. It’s a place locals have been coming to for years.
If you’re planning to visit, you’ll definitely want a car. Getting here by public transportation isn’t easy.
Have a great Sunday, everyone! ☀️

😂🇮🇹🇺🇸 One of the funniest differences between Italy and America has nothing to do with food

It’s saying HELLO

In Italy, two kisses on the cheek 😘😘 can be completely normal
For many Americans, that’s when the confusion starts 😅

🤝 Do we shake hands?

🫂 Do we hug?

😘 Do we do one kiss?

😘😘 Do we do two?

🤔 And most importantly…

⬅️➡️ Which side do we start on? 😂😂😂

Meanwhile, the Italians already said hello, had a coffee ☕, and moved on with their day.

The Americans are still replaying the entire interaction in their head an hour later 😭🇺🇸

For Italians 🇮🇹, it’s just a greeting.

For Americans 🇺🇸, it’s a high-pressure social situation 😂

People think Starbucks struggled in Italy because Italians don’t like Starbucks ☕️
That’s not the reason ⬇️
The truth is that most Italians already have a favorite coffee bar☕🇮🇹
A place where the owner knows their name
A place where the barista already knows what they’re going to order
A place that’s been part of the neighborhood for decades
In Italy, coffee isn’t just something you buy
It’s part of your daily routine
And maybe that’s why the local coffee bar is still impossible to replace❤️

People often think living in Florence is like being on vacation every day 🇮🇹

And don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love this city❤️

But living somewhere and visiting somewhere are two very different things 😅

When you live here, you start noticing the little things…
Don’t worry… none of these things would ever make me leave Florence 🏃
But if you’ve lived here long enough, you know exactly what I’m talking about 😂

🇮🇹❤️ Only in Italy…

You stop for a quick coffee and end up having a 20-minute conversation,
You leave home to buy bread and run into five people you know,
You sit down for dinner at 8 PM and suddenly it’s 11 PM🍷🍝
A stranger gives you directions… and sometimes walks you there.
You tell an Italian grandmother you’re full…She brings dessert anyway 😂
Italy isn’t just beautiful because of the food, the wine, or the scenery

It’s the people
It’s the conversations
It’s the feeling that nobody is rushing through life ❤️

Americans:
What was the biggest culture shock you experienced in Italy? 🇺🇸👇

Or what is your favorite “Only in Italy”?

06/06/2026

Americans often think Italians are angry because we talk loudly, interrupt each other, use our hands, and get passionate about every conversation.😂🇮🇹

But that’s usually not anger
That’s just how many of us communicate 😂
We put emotion into our conversations, We get excited, We raise our voices, We debate, We disagree. And five minutes later we’re sharing a glass of wine together like nothing happened 👍
What sounds like an argument to many Americans often sounds completely normal to an Italian 🤷‍♂️
At the end of the day, we’re just passionate people🥰
As we say in Italy, it usually ends with “tarallucci e vino” 🍷❤️

One of the biggest culture shocks for Americans in Italy is the tip🇺🇸🇮🇹

In the U.S., tipping is part of the restaurant experience. In Italy, waiters are paid a salary, so tipping isn’t expected the same way.l
If the service is great, many people leave a few euros. If you don’t, nobody is going to chase you down the street 😂
For many Americans, the craziest part is seeing a restaurant bill that doesn’t come with a suggested 18%, 20%, or 25%
Different cultures,Different systems
And before anyone asks… yes, tips are always welcome❤️🍷

Every American watching this is either laughing… or looking at houses in Tuscany right now. 😂🇮🇹

And that’s how it starts…
✈️ First it’s a vacation
📸 Then it becomes an obsession
🔎 Then you’re checking flights every week
🏡 Then you’re looking at houses in Tuscany

💬 Then you’re telling your spouse…
Maybe we should move to Italy 🇮🇹❤️

And honestly… that’s exactly what happens to a lot of Americans
So Americans don’t visit Italy! They accidentally start planning a second life here 😂🇮🇹✈️🏡

🇮🇹❤️
