Art Workshop: "Dentro I Colori Di Langa" by Angiola Gatti
On Tuesday July 7th, as part of the Casa di Langa Artist Experience, Piedmontese visual artist Angiola Gatti led an art workshop titled "Dentro i colori di Langa", inviting guests to experience her creative process firsthand through hands-on art making.
The evening opened with a presentation of Gatti's practice and the inspiration she drew from her days in the Langhe. Guests then created individual pieces, taking cues from both her artistic approach and the landscape, nature, and colors surrounding Casa di Langa.
The evening culminated in a collaborative work: all participants coming together to create a single artwork.

🖌️Artist Bio:
Angiola Gatti (b. 1960, Turin) is an Italian visual artist working at the boundary of painting and drawing, suggesting the irrelevance of such distinctions in a contemporary context. Born in the birthplace of Arte Povera, she uses the everyday ballpoint pen as her primary instrument — a nod to the movement’s championing of accessible tools.
Inspired by walks through Turin and the Piedmont mountains, Gatti values the directness of the marks which allows her to draw while moving, letting her hand trace the flow of her thoughts. She presses her pen with such force that “the canvas is nearly carved”, describing her work corporeal rather than purely abstract, shaped equally by intention and spontaneous
impulse.
