Where Matter Thinks

Mediterranea is the in & out furniture line in PLA (polylactic acid) with the addition of natural dye. Combining design, craftsmanship with digital technologies, Medaarch furnishings are made through an additive manufacturing process, thanks to the use of 3D printing. Thus, armchairs, stools, dining chairs, comfortable seats and chaise shorts emerge through the addition of materials, designed with a computational approach to design, through the use of 3D modeling software. The aim of the project is to interpret plastic furniture in a Mediterranean key in the name of innovation and sustainability in order to make it functional, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The modeling through the design software allows to define bold geometric shapes ensuring the resistance of the surfaces, dynamism and lightness, minimizing the use of the material and the consequent weight. Part of the Mediterranea project is Unique, the collection of 3D printed ceramic vases that blends artisan tradition and digital innovation. The project is based on the writing of a computational design algorithm capable of “generating” ceramic pots to be printed with additive digital manufacturing techniques. The result is design products with a unique morphology, which come to life from the fusion of technology and the human factor in a mix of exclusive shapes.

One silhouette. Two personalities. Clay, shaped to be noticed.

Alma explores the beauty of contrast through two distinct finishes.

One soft and luminous, catching the warmth of natural light. The other deep and expressive, bringing a bolder presence into the space.

Different in character, yet connected by the same sculptural silhouette and unmistakable texture, shaped layer by layer in 3D-printed clay.

Same form. Different moods. An identity of their own.

Rome sets the scene. Red changes the mood.

Beneath the colonnade of the Acquario Romano, warm stone and sculpted figures framed a contemporary expression of Italian design.

For FAR — the Festival dell’Architettura di Roma — Capri armchairs and the Tusa coffee table formed an intimate sculptural lounge. Their flowing curves, framed by totems designed for the occasion, drew a continuous palette of red through the monumental setting.

Alongside our participation in Design Spot, the installation brought our vision into the festival’s conversation between architecture and contemporary design.

A new rhythm within a historic setting.
The signature of Mediterranea Design.

A curve your eyes want to follow.

Riva takes shape through a continuous gesture, folding and opening into a silhouette that feels fluid from every angle.

In blue, its sculptural character becomes even more expressive. Light moves across the visible layers, revealing a tactile surface that shifts with every curve, while solids and voids give the piece a sense of movement without weighing down the space.

Beside a sofa or armchair, Riva becomes that small but distinctive presence that changes the composition around it.
Compact in scale. Sculptural in character. Impossible to overlook.

Sculptural in form. Effortless in presence.

Kora flows in one continuous gesture, from the softness of its seat to the slender curve of its backrest.
Below, four converging elements create a sculptural base, giving its refined silhouette a distinctive sense of movement and balance.

Around the table, Kora brings more than function. It introduces quiet luxury, fluid lines and a subtle statement presence into the space, turning the simple act of sitting into part of the atmosphere.

Design, innovation and collaboration — beyond the track.

At the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza, our Capri armchairs and Tusa Coffee Table became part of a hospitality space shaped through the collaboration between Mediterranea Design, Versalis, Artigo Rubber Flooring and Slamp

Different expertise, from materials and lighting to design and additive manufacturing, came together to create a space for connection, conversation and hospitality.

For us, it was an opportunity to bring our design language into a new context: sculptural forms, bold colour and digitally manufactured furniture becoming part of the experience itself.

Some forms are meant to be followed with your eyes.

Nostrum moves across the space in curves, openings and shifting shades, creating a composition that never feels completely still.

Inspired by the movement of the Mediterranean Sea, its sinuous geometry turns a bookshelf into something more intimate: a place for the objects you choose to keep close, framed by a design that feels fluid, expressive and unmistakably its own.

Six modules. One continuous rhythm.
