Water levels in rivers across the country have risen significantly in recent days, increasing the risk of landslides. Below, you can see how the Markarfljót river has overflowed and washed away part of Þórsmerkurvegur (Road 249) due to the high water levels. The road is currently closed.

Breyttur opnunartími í Sundlauginni Laugaskarði! Laugaskarð

Farið hefur verið í vinnu við að aðlaga opnunartíma Sundlaugarinnar Laugaskarði og tekur breytt vetraropnun gildi núna.

Opnunartími verður eftirfarandi:
Mánudaga–föstudaga: 06:30–20:30
Helgar: 10:00–17:30

Þessi opnunartími gildir fyrir vetraropnunina í ár. Jafnframt er áfram unnið að því að skoða opnunartíma sundlaugarinnar til framtíðar, meðal annars í samráði við ungmennaráð og með hliðsjón af fjárhagsáætlun.

🏊‍♀️ Updated Opening Hours at Laugaskarð Swimming Pool!

Work has been underway to adjust the opening hours at Laugaskarð Swimming Pool, and the new winter opening hours are now in effect.

The opening hours are:

Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM
Weekends: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM

These opening hours will apply during this year’s winter season. At the same time, work is continuing to review the swimming pool’s opening hours for the future, including consultation with the Youth Council and consideration of the municipality’s budget.

We sincerely thank our guests for their understanding and look forward to welcoming you! 💙

I will never tire of videoing Reykjafoss, this beautiful waterfall in Hveragerði. There’s always a little surprise waiting, as the fish seem to often enjoy putting on a show. 🐟💦

Watching them leap their way up the rushing water is such a beautiful reminder that there’s always more happening in nature than meets the eye. ❤️

Reykjafoss never disappoints. 🌿
