All good things come to an end.., I had the most amazing time building up Hotel Bru from just a sad old house to Tripadvisor number one place to stay in Borgarnes, but now it's time for new adventures, new people have taken over the hotel and I wish them all the luck and I hope they will make it even better...

I just want to thank all my customers for all the good memories..

We get so many postcards and even christmas cards from guests staying here, I am so thankful, and I wish I had time to reply to them all, maybe you'll all get a card from me when I retire :)
But today the mailman brought in a huge box, I was so touched when I found this hand carved Thors hammer inside sent from Birgit and Sven who got married last summer here in Iceland, since the weeding was an Asatru (The old norse religion) wedding, what is more fitting than Thor's hammer ?
The hammer is already hanging in the restaurant...

Scott Collins was a staying at Hotel Bru last sunday, having driven around Iceland with a ring in his pocket waiting for the perfect moment..., it finally happened here on their last night under a green magical sky.., of course she said "YES!", this photo was taken at the same moment..., congratulations!

I just bought a camera to see if I could take Aurora photos myself, I have the best gear, no knowhow and haven't got any good conditions yet, I have a lot of room to improve here :)
