The soul of Local Narrative is built around craft and purity.

When we thought of extending our specialty coffee + bakehouse mornings into pizzeria + kombucha evenings, handcrafted sourdough wood fired Neapolitan pizzas felt like the obvious match made in heaven.

They’re sustainable, fresh, wholesome, and gut friendly. And the whole world loves them (of course, opinions exist!).

When Local Narrative first started, we were widely known in and around Vijayawada as a specialty coffee forward café with good food. Little did we realize that our pizzas were quietly earning the reputation of being our best kept secret.

It was only after we briefly paused our pizza menu a few weeks ago that we realized how blind we had been to the love our pizzas had received. The compliments from well travelled guests who said they rivaled some of Asia’s finest artisanal pizzerias, to first time visitors who instantly fell in love with them, had been right in front of us all along.

Then came the calls, asking if the pizzas were back. Some of our regulars checked in almost every day. And hey, we weren’t ignoring you. We felt the disappointment and we shared the urge to bring them back ourselves.

we took our time. We trained every member of our team, practiced every nuance, and refined every detail to upgrade until we felt we are ready to serve the best pizzas to our members.

While the debate of whether a craft pizzeria truly belongs alongside a specialty coffee and bakehouse brand continues in our boardroom and perhaps around the world, we invite every sourdough pizza lover, and every first timer to experience the craft of our sourdough Neapolitan pizzas, topped with fresh ingredients and made with patience, purpose, and passion.

As the peak May extend into June here in Vijayawada, our mango menu ‘YES YOU MAY’ followed.

This season we chose Banginapalli & Chinna rasalu varietal for our mango specials. Carefully sourced and ripen in house, we closely monitor each fruit for the right colour, aroma, skin tone and taste before it reaches to your plate through our craft cuisine, artisanal bakes and specialty beverages.

Yes, we went bold and experimental with the fruit but hey, they turned out amazing. Drop by and savour the delicious before they are gone for the year.

‘YES YOU MAY’ is our peak summer language. It’s bright, It’s orangishly yellow, It’s sunny, It’s dotted/withered. Conversations about Indian summer cannot skip heat and mangoes.

This summer we have chosen Andhra’s beloved ‘Banginapalli’ and ‘Chinna Rasalu’ for our seasonal menu. Carefully picked directly from farms at the right size and colour, we ripe them in-house with patience, eagerly waiting for the perfect aroma, the golden skin, the ideal dotting/withering.

Only when the fruit reaches its perfect stage does it become a part of our mango menu : YES YOU MAY . Every dish is thoughtfully crafted to spark conversations, nostalgia, and moments that feel like subtle summer.

Come and savour the season before it’s washed away with the monsoons.

Someday we will dream about today.

The one that made the local souls of Vijayawada come back again and again, for a life that goes slow and almost ritualistic - THe STRaWBeRRY FReNCH ToaST .

Thick slice of perfectly baked brioche bread soaked in milk, egg and cinnamon. Toasted perfectly and filled with real strawberry compote and topped with vanilla infused cream cheese whipped cream and strawberry. Drizzled with maple syrup and sugar dust.

As nature takes its course, we will miss you until next season.

For a lot of us, coffee is the first ritual in the morning that we want to get right. Local Narrative will be now open from 7:00 AM, all days of the week. Only the coffee & Bakehouse are open at 7AM for now, while the kitchen will be open from 10:00 AM as usual.
