In July 2020, Vintage Foods started as a cloud kitchen in the City of Lakes, Udaipur, Rajasthan in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is the brainchild of two enterprising siblings in an unprecedented situation. The local Udaipu
r brothers had just come back to their hometown for a quick vacation when India went into lockdown because of COVID-19. Siddhartha Chakraborty (Chef, Restaurateur, Entrepreneur), with more than 21 years of experience in the F&B industry, was based out of Mumbai before the Pandemic. His younger brother Saurabh Chakraborty (IT-Tech Architect ), with an experience of more than 15 years, had been working in an IT firm in Bangalore. After almost 20 years of following their individual professional paths, the two got to spend quality time together for such a long time. A series of discussions on the food industry -- a subject of passion for both and the idea of opening a food and beverage company emerged. With a finger on the pulse of the current business scenario in the F&B sector and keen eye towards future trends, the brothers joined forces to open a cloud kitchen in their hometown. Chef Siddhartha was already experienced in running a cloud kitchen in Mumbai, so the idea of replicating the success in a non-metro city like Udaipur, which is highly rated among tourists and food lovers, was very appealing. They thought of it as a litmus test for the company, with a high probability of success in the future. The main motive behind opening a cloud kitchen was that they could then operate multiple brands under one roof, serving different food concepts to the city. They took a big leap of faith and came up with three brands to kick-off the venture. After one year of bootstrapping and successful operations, today Vintage Foods operates 10 brands from the same 312 sq. ft kitchen with a variety of food concepts and cuisines on the menu. The entire operation is run by a team of 7, with Chef Siddhartha at the helm. In October 2021, they further expanded their horizons and opened a cozy casual diner - "Vintage Foods" adjacent to the kitchen, with seating capacity of 20 pax. The diner serves the most popular dishes from the cloud kitchen's menu. Its philosophy is very simple and clear - that there is no concept Cuisine!
