Chai Jaai Chai Jaai is a tea room in Srinagar. Inspired by the tea rooms of the Cotswolds, it seeks to create a fusion of the English and Kashmiri love for tea.

Chai Jaai is a Tea Room in Srinagar, Kashmir. Inspired by the Tea Rooms of the Cotswolds, the heart of England, Chai Jaai seeks to capture the warmth, good cheer and welcoming ambience of the quaint Tea Rooms of the area. While at the same time adding a generous dash of our very own Kashmiri tea traditions. A fusion of the best British and Kashmiri tea traditions, is what we seek to bring to the tea lovers in Kashmir. A first of its kind venture, CJ is located on The Bund, with one of the finest views of Jhelum. In one of the most iconic buildings, the Dhanjibouy building, housing the beloved Mahattas studios.

Noon Chai’s famous rosy hue comes from brewing the tea with a touch of baking soda. Once brewed the tea is garnished with salt, and that is what gives its gives it the name noonchai, for ‘noon’ literally translates to salt in Kashmiri - a small detail that gives this tea its distinct taste, memory, and place within everyday life in the valley.
