After getting a PR in Canada, do I need to stay in Canada for a certain period of time or can I come back and start my job in another country while holding a PR in Canada?

Yes, of course. Many ppl don't leave thr respective jobs and do a ‘soft landing', which is nothing but a week or so for simple documentation like PR card, SIN etc. Remember u can miss out 2yrs out of your allocated 5yrs of PR (from PR renewal purpose)

Option no 2, if ones work allows to do the job remotely (mostly happens in IT). Try to be here for 2 to 3 months, do your job during nights or during flexible shifts if possible and not only get the PR card,but also get the know how of the job market and how much preparation is reqd if in case one wants to pursue his own area of interest n field, lil later whenever planning to return.

Well I took the second option, it's more challenging but so does the whole immigration post process of settlement n job search. I Did my IT job remotely (at night's) and during the days hunt down a job which is at same level or at Max one below. By the time my 2.5 months of limit was about to expire, god willing, got a job. Went back home deposited the laptop n company property and came back in 15-20 days to join the company. Till now, every day is a new experience n the learning never ends.
