Pagdandi – An alternate kaccha rasta (rough path or minor road), unpaved, less taken, more fulfilling. (In Marathi: Payvaat)
A Yellow shutter on the slopes of rolling hills of Baner, Pune belongs to a “Cupboard under the stairs” book store café. This is where Kipling jostles for space with piping hot kulhad chai and Sweet frosty cupcakes provide a fitting accompaniment to Doyle. Pagdandi is a con

cept store, promoting conscious yet alternate lifestyle choices. It provides a wide collection of book with a focus on independent publishers, both for rental and purchase in a café environment. Healthy frozen yoghurt with wholesome sandwiches, fresh juices and shakes will be served along with piping hot fresh masala chai and tantalizing cupcakes. A gallery wall allows budding artists and photographers to display their work for a nominal fee. Travel services and water bottle refills can also be availed under the same roof. The store provides bench seating, low mattress seating as well as table chairs to suit the customer’s mood and comfort. The idea is to create an interactive, creative and open space where one can relax and ideate over the multiple facets of life yet unexplored, be encouraged to utilize the maximum individual potential. We also host events and workshops in tune with our philosophies. About Us
Neha quit her full time job as a Television producer to backpack and pursue Yoga. She is now a Yoga Teacher in Pune. Vishal quit his full time job as an IT Manager to backpack throughout the country and share his adventure with the world. Pagdandi was conceived by us about a year ago. We wanted a place where we could settle into a cozy nook, adrak chai in hand and read our favorite authors whole day long. Being always on the move, we also wanted access to healthy and wholesome food. Pagdandi is an endeavor in that direction. A place you can relax, chill out and interact with new likeminded people. A space where the moment you enter, you feel happy. An adda for creative collaborators. Our first footsteps on the pagdandi of life.

Hot day? Cool sips. Simple as that. Swipe to pick your summer drink, or honestly, just order all three. We won't judge.

Most of us have that one coffee we always come back to, almost without thinking.
Cold coffee is sweet, creamy, and tastes exactly the same every time. You can sip it slowly without it losing anything. It works in the morning, in the afternoon, late at night, whenever you want something familiar and easy.
If that's been your order forever, this one's for you.
What kind of coffee person are you?

When the weather calls for something light but still satisfying. Our Hummus and Pita with Salad is the kind of meal that doesn't weigh you down. Simple. Fresh. Everything you need when it's this hot outside.

Some of the best parts of a meal are the ones you feel before you can name them.
The right amount of crunch. A colour that just works.
That last touch on the plate that brings everything together.
It's all in the details.

The Seekers by Gautamiputra Kamble
translated from the Marathi by Sirus J. Libeiro

The seekers in these stories travel through worlds both ancient and modern, worlds of symbol and fantastical allegory, on their paths to greater truth.

The state of Maharashtra is famous for its ancient Buddhist cave complexes. It’s also known as the birthplace of leaders in the struggle against caste oppression: Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule in the early 1800s, and B. R. Ambedkar in 1891. It is here that Dr. Ambedkar, architect of the Indian constitution and warrior against the practice of untouchability, led marches for the right of Dalit people to draw water from community wells, to enter temples, to live with dignity.

The Seekers consists of five stories that hold Phule-Ambedkarite thought at their core, weaving together the history of ideological conflict, the pursuit of artistic excellence, and the unquenchable human thirst for freedom. The book tells of ancient revelations, of flood and fire, of vast deadly deserts, of people turned to stone.

It is a unique work of anti-caste Marathi literature that feels both timeless and sparklingly new.
