Founded by an Engineer-MBA, Ketli has a different story to tell. In the fall of year 2008, a young Management student Rahul Shukla was struck with a thought that a Chai Tapri is a microcosm of a large businesses where all the principles are same as the corporate world. So he decided to Explore the Tapri world and undertook a road side Chai Tapri as his main MBA project. Over this experience Rahul
noticed that Tapri is a very interesting place where people from every walk of life come to distress and socialize. Be it a small break from the office work or quick catch-up with an old friend, Chai Tapri serves all these purpose. Also, no matter how rich or famous we Indians are, we never leave behind our habit of having a cutting chai at Tapri. These observations made Rahul more curious to dive deep in to the Chai Tapri world. He noted that quick service and affordable price are the USPs of Tapris. However hygiene issues and lack of service/facilities make Tapris unfriendly for a quiet relax time. On the other hand the high end cafes are great in these areas but are quite expensive and cant be visited frequently. While all these were going in his mind, Rahul was selected for an international company from his campus. He worked in Dubai for 2 years in Marketing & Branding field before coming back to India. In India again he tried to adjust himself within the corporate atmosphere for 4 more years. But his dream of exploring the Chai Tapri never let him settle in job. So he renounced his corporate life and embarked on a less travelled journey. On 15th Aug 2015, "Ketli-The Tea Bar" was founded in Pune. Ketli is designed in such way that it offers taste, nostalgia & great prices of Tapri and comfort, hygiene & service of Cafe under the same roof. In addition Ketli wears the look of an Indian village to add pacifying ambience while gulping a great cup of Tea!
