Meet , a civil services officer from the Andamans whose journey to UPSC success was built on perseverance, resilience, and the courage to keep going through multiple attempts. Growing up on the islands, he turned a dream of public service into reality through years of discipline, learning, and self-belief.

Through his journey, Shiyad hopes to inspire young people from the islands to dream bigger, stay consistent, and believe that geography should never limit ambition.

Salt & Stories by sodium is our attempt to spotlight islanders who are representing the Andamans in their own way and help them reach the audience they deserve.

Through her expeditions, she continues to inspire more people, especially women, to explore adventure sports and build a stronger connection with the ocean and the islands around them.
