Shirin Modi the Artist passed away yesterday under tragic and violent circumstances . Shirin had made Goa her home for several decades and was a part of the original Atelier of Artists who made up Yan the Flying Dutchman’s Gallery at Calangute.
Yan helped set up our Gallery Gitanjali and Shirin displayed sporadically at the Panjim Inn. Shirin was a tempestuous person, given to on off relationships with those around her. That said, she certainly did not deserve the violent end at the hands of a hired help. May she rest in peace . Ajit Sukhija
