First post in eons means it must be important, and what’s more important today than celebrating our 80th year of independence.

Today we’re just another coffee shop, one among a plethora of. No brand, no specials, no influencing (not like we do on any other day). We’re an Indian coffee shop, and despite the never-ending power cuts and cow poo on our street, I’m proud of that.

Ritual would never have existed anywhere else but in Mysuru, Karnataka, India.

Happy Independence Day.

It’s time for some change.

We try our best to pay attention to your feedback, and the one thing everyone collectively yells from the hilltops is “why the hell do you close so early”. Frankly, we just wanted to make sure we were ready before we took the leap.

We are now. Starting this month, we won’t be rushing you out at 7pm.

Doors are open 9am to 9pm, Tuesday through Sunday. We look forward to seeing you.

Some of you know that we recently started a teeny-tiny food menu. Over the course of this month we’ll be working on some new ideas, testing and tasting as we go along.

The intention is no different from our coffees; simple, no fuss, but as ridiculously good as possible.

Naturally, our beverage menu will have a few new items too.

Life can be unpredictable at times. Running a coffee shop and having to learn how to be a barista was unexpected, but you do the best you can, everyday, relentlessly, ritually.

What an incredible journey it’s been, and continues to be.
