Imtiaz Qureshi became world famous after Gordon Ramsay said he was one of the best Chefs Gordon ever met when he visited India. An entire episode is dedicated by Ramsey to Imtiaz Qureshi’s cooking.

Sad, very sad news… Chef Imtiaz Quereshi has passed away. A legend, he lived life to the hilt. Always smiling, laughing, happy.
He and I shared a wonderful rapport. Here he is, at my home, personally serving my guests, the wonderful Lucknow Pulao, the Awadi Biryani, made by him personally for the Iftaar dinner.
This is a huge, huge, loss to the culinary world. Imtiaz Sahab, you will be missed forever.
Condolences to Ishtiyaque, his son and the entire family.

We absolutely do not do this at Cafe Mysore. The dal cooked is consumed when it is fresh. Our constantly running steam cooker can cook dal in small batches very quickly which is why we don't store any food for later.
