🇮🇳🇳🇿 A new export opportunity is opening up!

The India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement provides for zero-duty access for Indian exports across all sectors from the Agreement’s entry into force.

For Maharashtra’s industrial ecosystem, the opportunity is particularly relevant for:

💊 Pharmaceuticals– tariffs of up to 5% eliminated, with streamlined market access for pharma and medical devices.

⚙️ Engineering & Auto Components – tariffs on several categories, including transport equipment, electrical machinery and industrial machinery, move to 0%.

🥫 Processed Food & Agri-Products – pickles, preserved vegetables, frozen foods, sauces, ready-to-eat foods, cereals, spices and other categories see tariffs reduced from 5% to 0%.

🧪 Chemicals & Personal Care – several chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and specialty chemical categories move from tariffs of up to 5% to 0%.

The agreement also provides for faster customs processes, including cargo clearance within 48 hours and 24 hours for perishables and express shipments, supporting MSMEs and exporters.

This is an opportunity to look beyond domestic markets and explore New Zealand as an export destination.
