This is how I feed my daughter pizza every day.
She was 13. That tricky age ā where everything is ugh, including dinner. One evening during lockdown, she looked at me and said, āCan we just have pizza every day?ā
Honestly? I didnāt hate the idea. I was already baking sourdough at home ā just flour, water, salt. Ordering in felt risky, and I was tired of negotiating every meal. So I said yes ā but on my terms.
I made a real base, slow-fermented. Used good cheese. Homemade sauce ā no tins, no preservatives. Sometimes added chicken. Sometimes spinach. And always served it with something fresh on the side.
The salad? That was non-negotiable. At first, she wasnāt thrilled. But hereās the trick: a drizzle of soy sauce and a touch of sweet chili sauce can work magic on a kidās interest in greens. Itās not about tricking them ā just making it taste good enough to try.
One slice. A bit of protein. Some salad. Thatās the formula. Itās not perfect. Itās not a hack. Itās just balance. And it works.
