Why is matcha so pricey? Let’s spill the tea 🍵💸

There’s a surprising fun fact waiting at the end of the carousel—did you know it? 👀

Matcha isn’t just any green tea. It takes a lot of work and care.
Here’s what makes it so special (and yes, a little expensive):

🌱 Grown in shade for 3 weeks to boost its sweetness & umami
🤲 Picked the youngest, tenderest leaves by hand
(though these days, machines are often used too!)
⏳ Stone-ground slowly—just 30g per hour!
🗾 Only grown in small, specific areas in Japan
💚 Packed with nutrients and loved all around the world

BUT… here’s the fun fact!
In Japan, even tea that’s not stone-milled can still be called “matcha”—as long as it’s made from tencha (shade-grown, dried tea leaves) and ground into fine powder using equipment with similar precision.
